Your 4-Day Journey Through God's Own Country
Upon your arrival at Cochin Airport or Railway Station, meet your driver and begin your transfer to the hill station of Munnar. The drive along NH85 is a visual treat, featuring the beautiful Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls. You'll also have the chance to stop at a Spice Plantation to learn about the region's famed cardamom, pepper, and vanilla. For the adventurous, there are optional stops at adventure parks like Dreamland or Wonder Valley for some fun. Arrive in Munnar and check into your hotel. The evening is free to relax and soak in the cool mountain air. Overnight stay in Munnar.
After breakfast, set out for a full day of exploring Munnar's iconic sights. Your journey will include visits to the lush Mattupetty Dam, the serene Kundala Lake, and the famous Echo Point. Stop at the Photo Point for stunning pictures, visit the Elephant Arrival Spot, and explore the Tea Museum (Closed on Mondays) to understand the history of tea in the region. Later, proceed to Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai) , home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, and enjoy the panoramic views from Pothamedu View Point. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Enjoy breakfast and check out from your hotel. You'll then begin the scenic drive down the hills to the backwater capital of Kerala, Alleppey (Alappuzha). Upon arrival, you will embark on a memorable Shikara (Backwater) Cruise on the vast Vembanad Lake. For the next few hours, glide through narrow, palm-fringed canals, watch village life unfold on the banks, and see the lush green paddy fields of Kuttanad, the "Rice Bowl of Kerala." After the cruise, visit the Alleppey Beach before checking in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Cochin for a half-day city tour. Explore the historic Fort Cochin area, see the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, and visit the Mattancherry Dutch Palace and the Paradesi Synagogue in Jew Town. You can also take a stroll at Marine Drive. Depending on your flight/train timing, you may have the option for a brief harbor cruise (at own cost). After the tour, you will be transferred to Cochin Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
